Hello!
My name is Peter Mansour.
I’m a Coptic Orthodox Christian living in North America and I’ve created this space as a place to work through some of my thoughts and to be able to share them with others who are interested.
I believe that the Coptic church is in a really crucial time in its history: a time where we’re asking important questions about our faith and our identity. I don’t think I’m a great writer and I won’t pretend to have all the answers, but I feel a responsibility to offer what I can and also to be part of the conversations that are happening, to share the things I’ve learned and observed.
I attended the University of Maryland where I studied history and then St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary where I studied theology.
Just to be clear, I'm not a priest or a deacon. I guess I’m what some would call a “consecrated servant” — for the past few years, I have been a lay-employee of the church and I've had the opportunity to do ministry in some new, exciting, frustrating, and experimental ways. Confused? Intrigued? Yeah, me too :)
My interests include ecclesiology, liturgical theology, patristics, liturgical vesture, learning and implementing better ways to do ministry, bread making, and my dog, Lucy. And Taco Bell. And Costco.
